Signing agreements on financial and technical cooperation between the Government of Nepal and the German government

Kathmandu. The two important agreements on financial assistance and technical assistance between the Government of Nepal and Germany have been signed today.
These agreements aim to support Nepal’s priorities for energy, health, agriculture, governance and inclusive development. On behalf of the Government of Nepal, Mr. Dhaniram Sharma, co-chair of the Ministry of Finance, and on behalf of the German government, signed by Udo Volz, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany for Nepal in Kathmandu.
Under the Financial Assistance Agreement, the German government has pledged up to 20 million euros in support of the ‘Power Distribution Stranthening Program ’. The project will focus on upgrading and strengthening Nepal’s electrical distribution system, which will ensure reliable and effective electricity services across the country. The project will be implemented through the Nepal Electricity Authority and will also have an implementation agreement between the Nepal Electricity Authority and the German Development Bank. The implementation of this agreement should be completed within five years, i.e. by September 202. The Technical Assistance Agreement is based on a long-term framework agreement signed in 16 and a revised agreement in 2006.
