Kathmandu. Amid the Ukraine crisis, Turkey has reached an agreement with both Russia and Ukraine. On Thursday afternoon, Russian President Vladimir Putin called Turkish President Tanya Endogen to discuss Russia’s real demands for peace.

 

The BBC’s World Affairs Editor, John Simon, spoke with Ibrahim Kaolin, a spokesman and adviser to the Turkish president, minutes after the phone call. According to Kalian, Russia’s demands were of two categories. The initial four demands are difficult for Ukraine to address.

One of the demands was that Ukraine remains neutral and not joins NATO. This is a demand that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has spoken of before.

 

Another demand in this category is that Ukraine ensures the process of disarmament. Proving that Ukraine is not a threat to Russia.

There has also been talk of security for the Russian language in Ukraine and de-nazification. This demand has angered Kerensky. Kerensky himself is Jewish, and some of his relatives died in the Holocaust. But according to Turkey, it will not be difficult for Zelensky to accept this.

It is expected that Ukraine will have enough to oppose neo-Nazism and promise to stop it. Second-tier demands will embarrass Ukraine. Colin did not elaborate. He said the demand included the situation in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine.
