Kathmandu – President Vidyadevi Bhandari with the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Dr. Tedros Adhanom Gabrias has a courtesy call. The meeting took place at Rashtrapati Bhawan, Sheetal Niwas on Friday morning, according to the President’s Office.

On that occasion, Director General Dr. Tedros briefed President Bhandari on Nepal’s contribution to the health sector. Director General Dr. Tedros was interested in Nepal’s health policy. He also briefed President Bhandari on his support to WHO Nepal.

During the meeting, President Bhandari thanked WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros for distributing the vaccine to all countries equally in the Corona virus epidemic. Director General Dr. Tedros expressed his gratitude to Nepal for vaccinating many people against the corona virus.

Director General of Health and Population Dr. Khatiwada arrived in Nepal on a three-day visit on Thursday at the invitation of the Minister. Tedros also met National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timilsena, Health and Population Minister Virodh Khatiwada and Foreign Minister Narayan Khadka on Thursday.

Along with the Director General, the Regional Director of the WHO Southeast Asia Regional Office, Dr. Poonam Khetrapal and other WHO officials have also come. He is scheduled to return on April 25. रासस
