Japan and Saudi qualify for World Cup

Kathmandu- Two Asian teams Japan and Saudi Arabia have secured their place in the World Cup. Japan beat Australia 2-0 in the final match of the World Cup Asian qualifiers on Thursday and added 21 points in Group A to cut their ticket to the World Cup.
Saudi, who finished second in Group A with 19 points after losing to Australia, also secured their place in the World Cup. Australia will now play the fifth-place playoffs in the South American qualifiers for a place in the World Cup.
Both goals were scored by Kauru Mitoma to give Japan a win against the home team on Thursday. Mitoma gave Japan the lead with one minute left in the game. Similarly, Mitoma scored a goal during the injury time to take Japan to the World Cup in Qatar. Japan will play the World Cup for the seventh time in a row.
