Kathmandu. National exams in Sri Lanka have been postponed due to lack of foreign currency to buy paper. Sri Lanka has indefinitely postponed examinations in the western province, which is scheduled to start on Monday, due to lack of foreign exchange reserves for importing question paper.
Sri Lanka is facing its worst economic crisis since independence in 1948. According to education officials, Sri Lanka also lacks dollars to import paper.
The weak economic crisis brought about by the lack of foreign exchange reserves for import of essential commodities has led to shortage of food, fuel and medicine in the country.
There is a long line at grocery stores after the government provided rations including milk powder, sugar, pulses and rice.
